Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regret to inform you of a change to the September program:
To our great regret, the announced concert by cello virtuoso Philipp Schupelius with pianist Yukino Kaihara on September 25th cannot take place, as Yukino has to travel to Japan at short notice due to a family emergency.
However, we are pleased to present an equally exciting replacement, as Georg, Philipp's younger brother and also an accomplished cellist, has spontaneously agreed to step in with his trio. It remains in the family, so to speak.
The Stern Trio (“Star Trio”) with Avalon Stottrop (15, violin), Kian Özgünsür (15, piano), and Georg Schupelius (14, cello) lives up to its name and is currently conquering Berlin's concert stages with its passion for playing, virtuosity, and charm. All three musicians are students at the Julius Stern Institute of the Berlin University of the Arts and have won multiple awards at national and international competitions. Most recently, the trio won first prize at the national competition “Jugend musiziert”.
The three have already demonstrated their skills in renowned concert halls, where they have thrilled audiences with their musical ideas and finely tuned ensemble playing. In addition to the numerous solo successes of its members—including first prizes at international competitions in Germany, Italy, Slovenia, and Greece—all three are now devoting themselves with particular passion to chamber music and present a varied program that includes works from the Romantic to the Modern periods.
I know that many of you were looking forward to the originally announced concert, not least the two artists themselves, who definitely want to make up for the canceled performance. As soon as we have found a new date, we will of course inform you. In the meantime, I hope you will give the young musicians a chance and show your support for the youthful trio on September 25 by turning out in large numbers – it is sure to be a thrilling listening experience!
