A lecture from unfamiliar fields of research
In the tradition of medieval bestiaries, paracryptozoology today deals with creatures that are so extinct that they may never have existed.
Although the Paracryptozoological Society has decided to open up in recent years and has made its last two annual conferences accessible to laypeople, there are still prejudices regarding its scientific work. To counteract this, Dr W. Astersen, in his capacity as vice-chairman, will present both the misunderstood queen of sciences and the Paracryptozoological Society, which coordinates the work of active researchers, dispels misunderstandings and represents paracryptozoology to the outside world.
It should always be borne in mind that, among the semi-serious sciences, paracryptozoology is still considered the most serious.
Dr Astersen is none other than writer, director, screenwriter and multi- talent Christian von Aster, whose paracryptological event series ‘Myths, Monsters and Mysteries’ has been running highly successfully at the Leipzig Natural History Museum for years. We are delighted that we were able to win him over to bring this fascinating science a little closer to the Berlin audience as well.
