Is the general image of Berlin shaped more by film than by reality? Brigitta Wagner is a German-American film historian, filmmaker, and film educator based in Berlin, where she is a Director of Studies at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin. Her talk will show on how old and new films set in Berlin created a collective urban nostalgia for the city’s best, most inclusive, and most conciliatory pasts in the face of its renewed purpose as the all-German capital.
In cooperation with Dartmouth College. The talk will be in English.
